Nusa Lembongan is an island located at the southeastern part of Bali and part of the administrative area of Klungkung regency. There’s also two other islands which are Nusa Penida and Nusa Cenningan.
Nusa Lembongan is pretty popular for foreign and local tourist due to it’s beautiful landscape, clean white sand beaches, blue color of the sea, the sunset panorama, and preserve underwater scenery. That’s what makes this island different from the tourist spots in Bali, as most people go here for natural scenery, avoid crowded beaches and partying at night.
HOW TO GET THERE
The preferable way to Nusa Lembongan from Bali is by boat. There are many choices of ship types used to go to Nusa Lembongan from Bali island. You can choose from a traditional boat or commonly called as a slow public boat, public speedboat, fast cruise or a cruise ship. This varies depending on your budget, convenience, and desired travel time.
Whenever I go to Nusa Lembongan, I always go for the fast boat. You can either get your tickets at the harbor itself or book it online to avoid the queue. I booked mine online with D’Camel Fast Ferry for IDR 500,000 Return (Php 1,853) per person. This already have Pick Up from your hotel in Bali and Drop Off to your hotel in Lembongan. The trip took maximum of 35 minutes.
You can also check Fast Boat Gili to know other fast boats and their schedule in going to the island.

WHERE TO STAY
I’ve been to Nusa Lembongan twice in 2019 and I booked two different types of hotel or villa to stay in. Of course, this depends on your budget and your preference. For me, I always want to have a pool where I can relax after exploring the island or if I just want to relax for the day.
I stayed in a luxury villa called Lembongan Sanctuary Villas. This is one of the villas that’s close to the harbor, restaurants and 5-10min walk to the beach. You’ll also get a good view depending on the villa that you’ll get. I paid for IDR 1,619,104 (Php 6,000) for 1 night. The villa features a private pool, mini bar and an amazing view of the sea.
The second time that I was in Lembongan, I was with my family and so we decided to get a family room at Kawans Inn. The room features a balcony, private entrance, private pool and air conditioning. It cost us IDR 2,669,700 (PHP 9,900) which is already good for 3 person. The rate is also inclusive of good choices of daily breakfast.
Of course there are still other hotels or resorts you can stay in the island. You can choose from a budget hotel to luxury villas. I personally use Booking.com whenever I’m looking for a place to stay wherever I go cause I always get a cheaper price compared to other apps. (And no, this is not a sponsored post. LOL)
WHAT TO DO IN NUSA LEMBONGAN
The island is known for having a beautiful natural scenery and crystal clear blue water. You can go for land tour and see amazing spots in the island.
Must Visit Places:
- Dream Beach
It’s called that way for a certain reason. The fine white sand, crystal clear water and has easy access to food as there’s a hotel with an overlooking view of the beach.

2. Devil’s Tears Bay
Huge waves come crashing into the cove and with such force they blow a mist or ‘tears’ up into the air. I guess, that’s why it’s called Devil’s Tears.
This is also the best place to see the sunset in Bali. You can also freshen up in their natural infinity pool around the corner.

TIP: Don’t stand too close to the edge as it can be very dangerous.
3. Yellow Bridge
Yellow Bridge (Jembatang Kuning) is also known as “Bridge of Love”. This connects Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan.
Best time to visit is early in the morning to avoid flock of motorists or in the evening to see the colorful lighting at night.

4. Mahana Point Cliff Jump
Mahana Point cliff jump is a great little restaurant with amazing views and lots of activities. They also rent out surfboards if you want to take a break from cliff jumping. The cliff jumps are obviously the main attraction but I can definitely say that it’s a great spot for sunset.
It has a 10m diving board and a 5m diving board. There is a ladder to help you get out of the water and up onto the rocks with ease unlike the necessary scramble at the nearby Blue Lagoon Cliff Jump. However, they will charge you per jump. The 10m jump costs IDR 50,000 (Php 200) while the 5m costs IDR 25,000 (Php 100).

Activities

You can go for snorkeling, scuba diving or island hopping tour to Nusa Penida.
A combination of snorkeling tour package usually cost IDR 400,000 (Php 1,500) per person. This will already take you to Dream Beach, Panorama Point, Devil’s Tear, Toya Pakeh Wall bay Nusa Penida, Giant Travelly Point, Mangrove Point, and 3 snorkeling spots around the islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida.
If you’re just up to see the scenery that I mentioned earlier, you can book a land tour for IDR 200,000 (Php 800) that will already take you to 4 places in the island.
However, if you know how to drive a motorcycle, you can easily go to these places for free and just rent a motorcycle for as low as IDR 70,000 (Php 300).
TIP: Always check with your hotel for tours as usually they offer lowest price than getting it from other agencies.
